Peru, Arequipa, Prov. Camana; coastal desert ("Pampa del Toro"?) just NE of fog zone (Lomas de Camana), 15 km in from Pacific Ocean, 25 km ENE of CAMANA (km 153 on Arequipa road).

Habitat:
Extensive Lichen community in otherwise completely plantless gently rolling coastal desert. A) Large clumps lichen 2-5 dm diam. lying loose on coarse sand (the orange Teloschistes peruensis & Anaptychia neoleucomeiaena f. squarrosa) B.) Small crustose lichens on minor flat meandering depressions of fine sand-mud, in A. (Buellia auriculata, Solenopsora requieni).
