Occurrence Remarks:
This material is from a locality very close to the type locality. Since the species was described, material from LD has been sent to me, collected by Ulf Arup & Stefan Ekman. The distribution is now extended to several places along the coast of California and to Vancouver Island in Canada. The new material shows a wider variation in the soralia and the upper side. The soralia may sometimes appear labiate and the upper side can be more shiny (Vancouver Island). Otherwise, the description accommodates the new material in all other features. - See also C.
