Germany, Bavaria, Oberbayern, Ammergau Alps. In the valley of the river Neualpbach, between Mt 'Kreuzspitze' and Mt 'Geierkopf' (immediately at the German/Austrian border). On a fallen, heavily rotted trunk of a big spruce tree (Picea abies).
