Occurrence Remarks: Annot.: This taxon, which has been found on the same leaves as the previous one, is most probably conspecific with Byssoloma wettsteinii. It differs only by the somewhat larger, partly 5-septate ascospores. Recent collections contained numerous intermediate forms, and - as in the present case - individuals with smaller, 3-septate ascospores and with larger, predominantly 5-septate ascospores, being otherwise completely identical, are often found growing intermingled on the same leaves. This is perhaps an example of a species in the early stage of diversification of the ascospore septation, leading to sister species which are morphologically similar and only separated by their different ascospores [e.g. Fellhanera rhapidophylli (Rehm) VËZDA (3-septate) vs. Fell-hanerajuscatula (MOLL. Arg.) VËZDA (5-septate) vs. Fellhanera dominicana (Vain.) Vëzda (7-septate)].
