Habitat: (This locality is a narrow, deeply incised gorge through Cambrian sandstone and Baraboo quartzite conglomerate. The gorge has a small stream and is constantly cool and moist and shaded, with Aconitum noveboracense, Pinus strobus, Betula lutea. Surrounding uplands with woods of Quereus alba, Q. rubra.
