Habitat: pine dominated disssected upland with beech magnolia bottoms. Wet bottoms with Illicium, Magnolia virginiana, Osmanthus, Symplocos, Myrica inodora, Ilex coricea. Rhizogonium spiniforme is dominant along streams .; On wet soil and humus in a seepage area.
