Habitat: Dense thick carpet; Good quality dense closed stand of swamp conifer forest (Larix laricina-Picea mariana) with many bog shrubs (Aronia, Ilex, Alnus, Ericaceae) & acid bog plants (orchids, sedges, Smilacina trifolia, Drosera rotundifolia); Sphagnum capillifolium the ground cover dominant. Appears like a n. bog in a relatively s. loc.; old rotten limb
