Habitat: Terrestrial, component of huge dense deep moss mound overgrowing downed log. Thuja occidentalis swamp, floor very uneven w/ criss-crossed fallen logs carpeted w/ abundant bryophytes
Associated Species: intermingled w/ Sphagnum #15715, Sphagnum 15722, & bits of Rhizomnium magnifolium, Cystopteris sp., & Coptis trifolia. Other trees (Abies, Tsuga, Betula alleghaniensis, Fraxinus nigra) & shrubs (Acer spicatum, Ribes triste) sparse, groundlayer diverse: Aralia nudicaulis, Athyrium filix-femina, Caltha palustris, Carex bromoides, Circaea alpina, Cornus canadensis, Glyceria striata, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Maian themum, Onoclea, Osmunda regalis, Solidago patula, Symplocarpus, etc.
