Beautiful terrestrial mound-like cushion intermingled, with bits of Amblyostegium serpens & Galium triflorum. Northern swamp, forest floor very irregular w/ criss-crossed fallen logs carpeted w/ abundant bryophytes

Thuja occidentalis the overwhelming dominant, other trees (Abies, Tsuga, Betula alleghaniensis, Fraxinus nigra) & shrubs (Acer spicatum) sparse, groundlayer diverse: Aralia nudicaulis, Athyrium filix-femina, Caltha palustris, Carex bromoides, Circaea alpina, Cornus canadensis, Galium triflorum, Glyceria striata, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Maianthemum canadense, Onoclea, Osmunda regalis, Ribes triste, R. lacustre, Scirpus cyperinus, Solidago patula, Symplocarpus, etc.
