Locality: United States, Hawaii, Maui. Along water flume (Kula Pipe Line) between Waikamoi and Haipuaena gulch, 3 to 4 mi due E of Olinda
Elevation: 1298-1341 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 4260 - 4400 ft.
Habitat: Wet cool Montane rain or cloud forest, 15-20 m tall canopy of epiphyte-covered Metrosideros collina and Cheirodendrom trigynum; shrub layer of many tree ferns (Cibotium spp., Sadlera, Marattia douglasii), Pelea, Rubiaceae; and many small ferns, Cyrtandra spp., etc.; in deep peaty mulch on forest floor.
