Habitat:
Good quality dense closed stand of swamp conifer forest (Larix laricina-Picea mariana-) w/ many bog shrubs (Aronia. Ilex. Alnus, Ericaceae) and acid bog plants (orchids, sedges, Smilacina trifolia, Drosera rotundifolia); Sphagnum capillifolium the ground cover dominant. Appears like a n. bog in a relatively s. loc.; isolated stems buried in cushion of Sphagnum capillifolium group
